Let’s discuss your mission

ASSESS / STUDIES & MEASUREMENTS

Place the relay
where the link needs it.

A link drops between two areas, a vessel and the quayside, or a sensor and its receiver. Ptolémée helps compare positions, heights and radio resources before preparing on-site verification.

FOUR OPERATIONAL QUESTIONS

Size what is useful.

Where does the chain break?

Identify areas and situations where use becomes difficult.

Which positions should be studied?

Compare site geometry, possible locations and heights.

Which resources should be combined?

Examine bands, links and relays compatible with the scenario.

What must the trial confirm?

Define measurement points and the criteria that support the choice.

SCOPE, EVIDENCE & DELIVERABLES

A coverage study to inform the choice.

The site, equipment and acceptance criteria define the project. The quotation specifies the selected stages and the documents to be delivered.

Scope
Study area, route or critical positions, bands and equipment to compare. Site data, antennas and propagation assumptions are identified before calculation.
Evidence
A simulation example is shown on this page. Predictions for your site are accompanied by their assumptions and uncertainties. Field measurements and comparison with the model form part of the agreed trial scope.
Deliverables
Annotated maps, candidate configurations, relay positions and heights, measurement plan and architecture recommendation. A trial report is delivered when a field campaign is included.
Deployment
Remote study using site data, then measurements at the quayside, on board or along the coast according to the agreed scope.

Application: qualify an acoustic buoy’s radio transport
